If you take a look into my closets, you will learn that I do not follow the minimalistic approach to clothing (Confession: I may have a separate closet for my black clothes and another one for my cashmere sweaters). That being said, minimalism and Capsule Wardrobes are all the rage right now, so I wanted to create an sample summer Capsule Wardrobe. For those of you who don’t know, a Capsule Wardrobe is a set of clothing and accessories made up of approximately 15 to 30 versatile pieces in a coordinating color scheme (this sample has 17 pieces).  The goal is to make as many different outfits as possible with only a limited number of pieces.  The pieces I chose are all mid-price range, minus the shoes, but if you can only have two pairs of summer shoes, the ones listed below are the must haves!

Tops: (1) J.Crew Always Chambray Shirt – SALE $59.99 (2) Halogen Modal Jersey V-Neck Tee in Black – $32; I love this shirt, it goes with everything and is a great length (3) J.Crew New Perfect Shirt in Cotton Poplin – $69.50 (4) Free People Cap-Sleeve Stripe Tee – $68 (5) Athleta Threadlight Relaxed Tee in Grey Heather – $54; This top is super soft and even though it’s technically an athletic top, it can easily be dressed up
